Hi All

I am currently working on SPH for metal cutting in Abaqus. In the following images, you can observe the chip curve (left- Lagrangian FE) and chip without curve (right-SPH).

In SPH the chip flows on the tool rake surface and doesn't make any curve. I am trying to achieve the chip curve in SPH same like observed in FE. I played with different parameters, different materials, different meshes,etc. but wasn't able to achieve the  mesh. In LS Dyna, literature shows that the curve can obtained using Renormalization technique. I am not sure how it can be achieved in Abaqus.

Just wondering if someone could advise me how to achieve the chip curve. If it can't be achieved in CAE environment, what subroutine can be used to achieve this objective.
