Hello everyone, recently I have been working on co-simulation based on ABAQUS and StarCCM+, mainly focusing on simulation such as DTU10MW models. Previously, my work was mainly focused on CFD simulation, and I was not very familiar with Abaqus, but recently I have encountered some problems with co-simulation. The work on the fluid side is almost complete, but there are problems with it in Abaqus. In the geometry, I modeled the blades and nose together, using shell elements to give cross-section properties, and in Abaqus I could not generate hexahedral elements, but only quadrilateral elements. The bearing model was also built and given a solid element, which also generated a hexahedral element. One as a shell unit and one as a solid unit, in Abaqus I first chose the shell-to-solid constraint, but when I submitted the calculation, it told me that I couldn't calculate because of the incompressible properties of the shell unit. Then, I chose the TIE constraint and the computation failed in a few steps. In modeling, my model has a face at the junction of the hub and bearing, one is the shell face of the impeller and hub generating the mesh, and the other is the solid element face of the bearing. Is this because of the related problem.
I'm committed to doing a simulation of the following link: https://youtu.be/QkXogiq1aFE?si=voTrojQgfHYxhU21. If you have any suggestions or related work, you are welcome to guide you. If you've seen a suitable instructional video, you're welcome to share it as well. I also update some picture of my model for the simulation.
I wish you all the best in your work!
