Dear Abaqus Community,
I am attempting to reproduce a hyperelastic compression analysis described in a published paper.
I have implemented the same hyperelastic material model and general setup. However, the resulting stress distributions in my simulation are slightly different from those reported in the paper.
The Specific Problem: Asymmetry
- The mesh, both in the paper's model and mine, is symmetrical.
- Despite this symmetry, the paper shows a clear asymmetry in the vertical stress distribution.
- The authors attribute this asymmetry to friction between the rigid and deformable parts.
- My Issue: Regardless of the updates and adjustments I make to the model, I cannot reproduce this critical asymmetric stress distribution.
Current Model Setup
I am currently using the following contact parameters:
- Interaction Type: Surface-to-Surface Contact.
- Tangential Behavior: Defined with a Friction Coefficient of 0.1.
- Normal Behavior: Defined to allow separation after contact.
Does anyone have insight into what might be causing my inability to regenerate this friction-induced asymmetry?
Thank you in advance for your expertise.
Best regards,
