I'm in need of a criterion which deletes an element when its principal stress reaches a single limit (like 20 MPA) for progressive failure (analysis should continue after element deletion, needless to say Display Group is not the solution). For some reason I thought Traction Separation can do that for me but it seems that it's only applicable with crack which I'm not interested in.

Is there any built in feature that do this for me or I should write an UMAT? In the later case how difficult writing a UMAT for my case is?
