Separation behavior between rough surfaces

 

 

Currently, we want to simulate the sliding behavior between two rough surfaces in the above situation 

We made a cohesive layer and defined the contact interaction between the middle surfaces(the red and green surfaces).

The moving body has plastic material law and fixed body has elastic material law.

When simulating the horizontal direction loading using dynamic and implicit modes, the cohesive element is degraded to some extent, but convergence is not satisfied in the middle of simulation.

Is there another approach I could take in a simulation like this?

Do I have to use explicit solver and cohesive contact instead of cohesive element?
