I ran the same input file in Abaqus 2017 on two PCs: an i5-11th Gen and an i7-14th Gen. Both used 5 cores and 16 GB RAM. The simulation times were almost the same: i5 took 1 hour 37 minutes, and i7 took 1 hour 36 minutes. I expected the i7 to be faster, but it wasn’t much better. I think this may be because of the P-cores and E-cores in the CPUs.

1. How can I check if Abaqus is using P-cores or E-cores or both?

2. Is there any way to choose or force Abaqus to run only on P-cores?
