Hi,

I am new to Abaqus and I am trying to study a string under tension attached on both of its extremities. My computation is decomposed into 2 steps, the first one were I apply the pretension and a second one where I execute a modal analysis. The goal being to retrieve results obtained with other software. To be consistent with the other software's methods, I have to follow a certain procedure to apply the pretension.Firstly, I have to consider a 2D case where the cable is composed of beam elements (B21). And secondly, I have to apply the pretension by reducing the length of my wire. Because my case 2D, i can't use bolt loads to adjust the length of the wire, which is a solution i have seen quite often on internet. Does anyone has a solution to this problem ?
