When a bod y is immersed into a fluid/gas so that convection starts, the film coefficient is, e.g. a function of  the orientation of the FS -interface surface in space.

So it varies over the surface of the body. 

Is there any automated implementation of this for Abaqus Standard´s heat transfer procedure?

This exists in competitor products , for example  for the case of  pipe cooling .
