Meshing Advice

Hello everyone, I once again ask for some advice.

I am currently working on meshing the matrix block that surrounds a 3D model of a fiber. Due to the complex geometry, I was only able to use tetrahedral elements. I have tried using multiple different shapes of partitions, through the extrusion of sketches, but I always arrive to a mesh that maybe looks more regular, but has some areas that become more distorted compared to a free meshing without any partitions.

The biggest indicator of this is the number of distorted elements that Abaqus warns me of in the job's warning section. For any type of partition, the number of distorted elements always increases compared to free meshing (Free meshing = 20 distorted elements, Partitions = 100+).

So, the final question I would like to have an opinion on is whether you think the mesh achieved through free meshing would be adequate? Although it's not pretty, it has the least amount of distorted elements. I have never achieved a lower amount with partitions, as due to the irregular geometry of the fibers a fixed partition will never work well on all regions as even it may improve some areas, it often makes other areas worse.

Any tips on alternative partitioning methods would also be greatly appreciated.

I shared some images below that I hope can help answer my question.
