Mass Scaling in Coupled Temperature Displacement Abaqus

Hello,

I am running a coupled temperature displacement problem in Abaqus and am attempting to use the mass scaling parameter, type=below min to scale the mass of a few, small, selective elements in the model that limit the stable time increment. It seems that the mass scaling only applies to the stable time increment of the displacement problem, and not that of the thermal problem (Once the displacement problem stable time increment of the limiting elements is driven above that of the thermal problem for said elements, the Abaqus accepted stable time increment remains constant with additional mass scaling). Does anyone have an idea as to how I might avoid this issue and effectively drive the global minimum time increment up by adjusting the parameters only for the few select elements that are limiting the global stability?
