Hello all,
I have some pretty severe problems with letting a small mass rotate around a large mass. The large mass may only move up and down, while the small mass rotates around the center of the large mass at a constant distance (e.g. connected via a massless chain or a rope).
I understand that for letting the small mass revolve around the large mass, I have to create a RP at the center of the large mass and use a kinematic coupling constraint with the surface of the small mass. Then, I create a BC and let the RP rotate - the small mass then revolves around the large mass.
HOWEVER, the large mass is not affected by the movement of the small mass whatsoever.
I tried a lot of things, but I think my main problems lie here:
- How do I connect both masses in the right way so that the motion of the small mass influences the large mass? What connectors are needed here, if any? I think I tried all of them..
- Or, how do I tell Abaqus to take over the RP motion in y-direction for the large mass, but only the motion in y-direction? As mentioned before, the large mass may not rotate itself or move in x-direction.
I would be very thankful for any advice.
Thank you very much in advance!!
