I am trying to assign element by element local material orientations in abaqus in order to view the stress in each element with respect to a local coordinate system.  I am using 3D8N elements. The geometry is curved, so when viewing the stresses in the global coordinate system, the stresses are not representative of the stresses in the element local coordinate system.
