Issues with Applying Forces on Separated Surfaces

Hello everyone,

I’m new to 3DEXPERIENCE, though I have prior experience with Abaqus. I’m currently facing some challenges with FEM analysis and could use some help.

I’m working with a part imported from Creo as a .STEP file. My goal is to apply forces on two separate partial surfaces. One surface should have a centrally applied force, while the other should have boundary conditions.

To achieve this, I used the part design app and the separate command to split the surfaces (i dont know the actual name my version is in german). However, when I try to apply the forces or boundary conditions to these surfaces, I consistently encounter the following error:

“Topology and formula information are not available for the global element type assignment feature. Create or activate at least one section in the FEM representation. Ensure that the default mesh is associated with the supporting element of the sections and is updated.” (also translated)

It used to work when there was no seperation

I would greatly appreciate any advice on how to resolve this issue. Has anyone else experienced this error? What steps should I take to correctly apply the forces and boundary conditions?

Thank you in advance for your help!
