Hey :)
There are two known method for applying a coat/layer on a body. First is Surface offset method (offset the surface of main body and generate a new body of desired thickness, then mesh them separately in mesh section) and Second is Mesh offset method (directly offset the main body mesh and generate a new mesh layer of desired thickness with nodes perfectly aligned to each other). To do an analysis using first method, we define tie constraint by selecting one inner surface of slave body & one outer surface of master body.
My query is that if I use second method (Mesh offset) then is it necessary to define tie constraint b/w meshes? and if yes, then how? I generated three layer of coatings by mesh offset technique on a body, but there is no option for selecting inner surfaces of coatings also there is no option for hiding any mesh layers (Option is available for main body only). Also when i used the automatic contact pair finding option it's showing there is no contact. (maybe because i generated directly mesh).
