Importing a deformed and stressed part.

Hello,

I am working on a simulation in Abaqus 2024, in which I want to import a deformed and stressed shell.

Currently I am performing an initial analysis just on the deformation of the shell, and then I am importing my deformed mesh and material state into my main simulation as a predefined initial state field.

The problem is that I want to have multiple of these deformed shells in my final assembly, and also have them in different locations and orientations. And I have seen in the documentation that you cannot move or rename part instances with an assigned initial state field.

Hence, I was wondering if I can import just the deformed geometry, then create a section assignment, and then apply a predefined stress field. However, I am not sure if the stress field is the only thing I need to define. Are there other parameters included in the material state, that I need to import separately (if I don't use an initial state field)? Also, is it possible to move and rotate the parts instances if they have a predefined stress field assigned?

Are there any other, more clever ways, to create a deformed and stressed part, and then create multiple instances of this (at different locations and orientations) in your assembly?

I am not sure if I am missing anything. If anyone has more experience with this it would be very helpful.

Many thanks in advance.
