Hello all,
I am currently trying to rebuild a SW simulation study in 3DEXPERIENCE Platform using Structural Performance Engineer role.
The model includes "bearing connectors" between rigid shaft and deformable housing components.
Has anyone has successfully created that?
It's not very clear how the "Bearing Connector" connects the degrees of freedom between the two components.
- At least, I have tried to rebuild the explanation as shown in the documentation but still don't get similar results in SIMULIA.
- It's not clear, how SOLIDWORKS Simulation treats rigid bodies (RB).
- For example, in SW we can apply fixtures anywhere on the RB, but are they all transferred to the reference point. Also, where does the reference point (RP) lie? I assume at the center of gravity (CG), right? Let's say I apply a Hinge Fixture on a certain surface of an RB located far away from CG, (which is by the way allowed in SW and not in SIMULIA/ABAQUS), will the boundary condition (BC) be transferred to the RP or the DOFs of hinged surface be coupled with RP. Which will be the driving nodes here and which will be driven? BC-Surface or the RP?
It would be really helpful, if someone can share their experience with me.
Kind Regards
Muhammad
