How to modelize a rigid connection?

Hello everybody,

I am working with the 3DExperience platform (2016 version) and I am here to ask for your help because I couldn't find the information I wanted in the SIMULIA Doc.

Backgroud of my problem:

I am trying to reproduce a structural analysis of an assembly in SIMULIA with continuum elements and to compare it to the one I did in Ansys with shell elements.

Basically, my problem is that, for the same load (which is for me a gravity load to modelize an impact), I do not find the same values of plastic strain in Ansys and SIMULIA (7 times bigger in Ansys). However, the localisation of the plastic strain in my assembly is good (there are in the same places, only the values are not coherent).

My model and where the problem is located: Basically what I have is 2 pieces supporting a motor that weights more than a ton on a small part of those pieces. Now, in Ansys, there is an option to define the behaviour of the point mass and I put mine to Rigid Behaviour. My problem is that, reading the documentation of SIMULIA, I thought the equivalent was to make a kinetic coupling between the inertia point and proximity groups of nods where there is contact on the pieces with the motor. However, doing that gives me very different values from what I hope to obtain. Also I noticed that if I do a distributed connection I get values very different from the previous ones.

So I was wondering if anybody already an issue like that and succesfully solved it?

I apologize if I wrote too many things but I felt like it was important to give a bakground of what I am doing and what I am trying to achieve.

Thanks
