Hi everyone,
I am trying to run a Dynamic, Implicit analysis on a simple beam-floor model. The beam is modelled with B31 elements and the floor with S4R. The beam is fixed at both ends and is connected to the floor above with Tie constraints. A concentrated load is applied at the beam mid-span with a simple time-varying amplitude. The problem is that the dynamic analysis diverges as soon as it starts and the error that pops up is "Too many attempts made for this increment". If I run a Frequency analysis on this model, it runs fine. I believe that the cause of the divergence issue is the modelling of the constraint. Does anyone know if I should use anything other than the Tie constraint or make modifications in how the Tie constraint is defined?
Thanks!
