I am trying to model a fracture in a rock, I am using brittle cracking failure model, the problem is I don't know how to find the shear retention factor and the crack opening strain correctly, I have the fracture stress and strain only, how can I use these data to find the shear factor and crack opening strain? can anyone help me with this?
