Help Understanding the Behavior of DoubleActingCylinderA in FluidPower Library

Hello everyone,

I am currently learning how to use components in the Behavior Modeling environment, specifically from the FluidPower library. I am having trouble understanding the behavior of the DoubleActingCylinderA component (which I believe shares the same dynamics as the standard DoubleActingCylinderB).

In my setup, I am trying to configure the cylinder to pull on a position sensor (i.e., move it to the left, resulting in negative displacement values). To achieve this, I apply 15 bar of pressure to chamber B, while chamber A is set to atmospheric pressure.

However, under these conditions, the piston pushes the position sensor to the right instead of pulling it as expected (as shown in my first figure).

Additionally, in a second figure under the same conditions, the force sensor indicates a pulling force, which contradicts the piston’s actual movement.

Could someone help me understand what might be wrong in my setup, my reasoning, or the way I’m analyzing the system?

Thank you in advance for your support!

Best regards,

Emilien
