Hello all,
I am trying to compare the solutions of a thermoelastic model in Abaqus using fully coupled temperature-displacement analysis with a self-written thermoelastic FEM model in FEniCSx.
For the FEniCSx model I have implemented the following balance equations similar to the ones mentioned in this link, i.e.
The exact same model (same linear elastic material parameters, time and space discretizations) in Abaqus gives a result which only matches the FEniCSx solution if I neglect the term:
(coupling between deformation-rate and temperature change) in FEniCSx.
Does anyone know which heat conduction equation has Abaqus implemented in fully coupled temperature-displacement analysis?
Thanks and regards
Padhy
EDIT:
please find attached a simple model cantilever beam, pulled in axial direction. The "pull" results in a longitudinal "elastic" deformation which in turn does not result in temperature changes. As per the balance of internal energy, there should be a change in temperature.
