Forntran license is released when job is running?

Dear all,

we are planning to buy some new racks to extend our current computational capabilities. We will have a head node with a sequence of different racks each with 2 CPU and associated RAM, SSD and GPU. As you can imagine each cluster will have its own MAC address, for this reason we are planning to buy a floating Intel Parallel Studio Composer XE license.

However, our concern regards how abaqus deal with the Fortran licence. The nice thing of having an HPC is that more users can start different simulations at the same time. Since we have plenty of abaqus licenses the main issue is, if two or more users start a job that requires fortran are they allowed to run in parallel? In more practical terms, once I run a job does abaqus keeps the fortran license busy all the time? Because if this is the case, this means that we requires at least 2 fortran licenses to run two jobs, and this is really expensive since we are operating with Linux.

Someone has experience with this issue?

Thank you all in advance.

Kindest regards,

Daniele
