Hi, I have a question about the formulation of the elemental stiffness matrix of 3D Shell element in Abaqus. For 2D element, k = BDBAt, and D is expressed as shown in the second picture. May I ask what is the expression of the k for 3D shell element and does it related to thickness of shell element?
