Hello,
I am running heat transfer simulations in Abaqus, and have run into an unusual error. The simulations were returning unusual results (temp climbing consistently, when it should stabilize and fluctuate around a given temperature), which I knew were unusual because the same model (same materials, heat fluxes, surface radiation) in COMSOL returnedthe expected result. I had thought it might be a units issue (I was using SI(mm) units, density in Te/mm^3 etc), so I swtched to SI units. More specifically, I took the values of the material data and flux values from the COMSOL model we have, as it would eliminate at least one candidate for the issue causing this result.
However, after doing that, the simulation would not run. It returns two errors in the .msg file:
***NOTE: THE SOLUTION APPEARS TO BE DIVERGING. CONVERGENCE IS JUDGED UNLIKELY.
***ERROR: FIXED TIME INCREMENT IS TOO LARGE
Do you have any idea what could be causing this?
Best,
Conor O'Toole
