Hi,

Is there any way to simulate bonded particles in DEM in Abaqus? For example, a concrete cylinder as shown in attached figure, where initially all the particles are bonded and particles are only separated if a breaking criteria is reached in normal and tangential directions. 

User manual says there cannot be cohesion between DEM particles. What is the main difference between the Adhesion in JKR model and the cohesion ? Can we use JKR model to represent a bonded particles ?
