Hello,
First of all, I am new to CST Studio Suite and I have tried to search my question before posting without success.
I am trying to obtain S-parameters and the inductance and parasitic capacitance of a coil with a ferrite core and air gaps. However, when I run a time domain simulation, it takes incredibly long to simulate this simple structure, even though I am aware of the long simulation times using FEM methods.
Below is the inductor. Frequency is 0 to 5MHz. background is set to normal and no symmetry has been applied. I am performing a time domain simulation and have put waveguide ports at the end of the wires. I am not sure if I applied the waveguide ports correctly, since when I ran a 12-hour simulation before, all fields were outside of the wire.
I have a feeling one issue is the mesh, however, I am not sure how to improve it.
Is there anybody who could advice me on how to proceed?
Thank you in advance
