Does anybody know how CST Studio Suite generates its default gaussian excitation signal? It looks like it chooses its parameters based on the central frequency chosen by the user when working in the time domain, but I cannot reproduce these signals in Python without considerable effort for each one. 

Basically, I want to check the sims in Python but cannot do so without a reliable way of producing the same excitation signal as CST with the only inputs being min, max and central frequency.
