Hey!
I need to model a sphere of 3-30 micrometers in diameter made of polymer which is to be static in contact over a flat metal plate. Then, I need to apply a consentrated pressure load over the top of that sphere so that contact stress is developed between the sphere and flat plate. The plate should be constrained from movement in all directions and the sphere should be constrained from movement in all directions except along y-axis(U2) since the load has to be applied over the sphere and it should move along y-axis to generate contact stress over the sphere and plate. The sphere is deformable. And I need to know how to model and mesh it.
Then, again with the same setup, with the addition of an silver coating layer of 4 microns thickness over the sphere. I need to analyse the contact pressure at the sub surface level in plate and also in coating layer.
Someone, please help me with the guidance in the steps.
