In my model, there are few regions which are of particular interest, and I would like to mesh them with hexahedral elements. For other regions, I would like to mesh them with tetraherdral elements. How do i deal with the connectivity of elements at the transition edge? The four nodes of a tetra element face can be equivalenced with four nodes of a hexa element face. But there will be an element edge across the face. Is that okay for analysis?

I will be perfoming a static stress-displacement analysis. The hexahedral region will be of polymer and the tetrahedral region is of steel.

Is this possible to do in Abaqus/CAE or do we have to take help of external meshing software like HyperMesh with much powerful mesh controls.?
