I am trying to replicate the single-grit and workpiece grinding simulation. I have a .inp file for reference, as its contours are shown in the top image (1), which shows the ribbon-like chip formation. However, when I attempt to replicate this same simulation, I am not getting exactly the same results. As shown in the bottom (2) image, there is no chip formation similar to the top (1) one.
My boundary conditions, interactions, and material properties are as same as the reference model. The mesh is slightly finer in my case, element deletion, hourglass control, distortion control is on
