Hi!
I have a problem with an coupled eulerian lagrangian model. I am simulating a metal cutting process and therefore the heat generation by plastic deformation and friction is very important for me. The heat generation by plastic deformation is working well but there is no heat generated by friction.
The model in ABAQUS 6-13 consists of a eulerian domain which contains the material as well as void material and the material is flowing in and out of the domain. Inside the domain a lagrangian rigid tool is located and fixed. I am using a Johnson cook material model to model the viscoplastic workpiece material.
To model the contact I am using the general contact algorithm and interaction properties with heat generation and penalty contact for the tangential behaviour.
The strange thing:
When I am moving the tool and the material is fixed the frictional heat generation works.
When I fix the tool, and the material is moving the frictional heat generation doesnt work. Everything else looks pretty good.
Can somebody help me? I really tried a lot of different things but nothing worked.
