Hi

I come from an ANSYS background so i'm trying to do something in abaqus that was straight forward in ansys.

I'm modelling an axisymmetric structure with CAX8 elements. I would like to model connecting bolts using 2D planar elements CPS8 with a thickness.

When assembling the model in CAE, it will not allow me to create instances for these different elements parts together. Is this type of analysis just not possible in abaqus? I get the message "Part dimensionality does not match the dimensionality of the existing instances".
