Buckling Analysis

Hello

I've been modeling structural steel members and running a linear perturbation eigenvalue buckling analysis to determine approximate buckling forms and loads.

I've come upon a weird trend: when I cut a small hole in the beam section, the buckling load increases (strength improves). This is illogical. Eventually, as hole size increases, the buckling load decreases and follows a reasonable trend.

Still, why would the load initially increase??
