How to generate beam to surface contacts in abaqus? As per the documentation i should use the general contact but it does not seem to detect the contact. In My simulation I have a helical spring resting on a plate, I am using beam elements to model my spring, so i have only the centerline edge of the spring as the part. Will the general contact cater for the cross section of the beam to detect contact?
