Hello everyone, I am running a cutting simulation on Abaqus/ Explicit as shown on figures bellow. I noticed that the kinetic energy generated was only dependant on the translation limitation that I applied and was not affected by the velocity ( tool feed). I turned it off and confirmed that the translation movement on the y-axis was the only one affecting the energy generated. I am thinking that Abaqus calculates the speed of the tool based on the displacement and simulation time if the speed is not specified, is this correct? I tried applying the velocity boundary condition on tool nodes, tool geometry and also on a reference point on the tool ( which results in an error). However none of this work. Could someone help me with this? a way to be sure that my boundary condition is being picked up on the simulation?
