I have a very simple question based on my asymmetric model of a hollow cylinder. The top side is slightly thicker than the bottom. I fixed a node on the bottom end and applied a pressure on the top side. I then ran the software to give me the force at the fixed point in the vertical direction. I would have imagined that the force in the vertical direction would have balanced however that does not seem to be the case and the force is three times the applied force.

The applied force was 707,000 N and the applied pressure was calculated using F*pi*(D^2-D1^2)/4. Pretty basic stuff.

Why I have applied a pressure rather a nodal force is just for my understanding of how pressure is used in Abaqus.
