Dear All,

My intention is to determine the change of soil profile about 0.5m and 2.2m below the surface, during a pile jacking. I noticed that when ALE adaptive meshing is used in ABAQUS/Explicit, the mesh movement does not represent the actual material movement inside the deformable domain, as there were large settlements along the considered surface far away from the driven pile, which is not the case in reality. I then set the priority to preserve initial mesh grading. That helped to a certain level, but still the issue persists in small scale.

I want to know how to use adaptive meshing to represent only the material movement, or to remove the effect of adaptive meshing when extracting the results. Any assistance/suggestion in this regard is greatly valued.
