Hello Abaqus Experts,
I've been working with UMAT with coupled pore pressure elements and noticed that Abaqus reports total stress as the contact normal stress for a seam crack. The issue arises when there is friction for tangential behavior, as Abaqus treats the total stress as effective stress and calculates the ultimate shear stress incorrectly. I managed to resolve this by forcing the tension traction to equal the pore pressure on both sides of the interface. I am wondering if there is a simpler solution to this problem?
