we are thinking about purchasing Abaqus for simulating composite materials. From what I've read so far, this is best done with Abaqus/standard (implicit).

I've talked to several people, that claimed that Abaqus/standard (not explicit!) has a poor performance on multicore systems because the core/memory assignment has flaws. The hardware we have, is an AMD EPYC 7551 with eight memory moduls (DDR4 2666 MHz).

Now I was wondering: Is this true or will Abaqus make the most of this system? Or to be more specific: Can it use multiple cores efficiently?
