Hi,
I am modelling a 3D railway track which includes soil (3D) , slab track (3D) and rails (1D). All elements are in contact with friction penalty and rails are modelled with beam elements connected with springs (representing rails pads) to the concrete slab.
The computation is working but I want to be sure that the model is correct.
I want to apply lateral centrifugal forces to the rails, and I don't know if the springs (vertical) will interact realistically with the lateral force and transmit realistic lateral stress to the concrete slab structure. Is this modelling sufficient to describe slab behavior under lateral force applied to the rails ?
