I am currently using Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) in the Abaqus Explicit for stress analysis (PC3D element). Because it is Abaqus explicit, in my understanding, the stable time increment is dependent on density, amount of particles, etc. I ran the simulation in the cluster with 1 node = 20 CPUs, 2 nodes = 40 CPUs, and 3 nodes = 60 CPUs. and found that the 1 node = 20 CPUs simulation completed the fastest which took about 60 hours. Although I expect the 3 nodes = 60 CPUs to complete the fastest. Is there a way to make changes in the setting or anything that speed up the simulation, can be by using more CPUs. Any input would be appreciated.
