We use Abaqus (specifically, Explicit) extensively in our research group. We are looking to buy a DELL PowerEdge server to run our Abaqus simulations on. It has been confusing with so many choices, so I want to ask here for suggestions on the hardware specifications. Currently we are looking at PowerEdge R750 with Intel Xeon Gold Processors but not sure whether switching to Platinum processors is the best.
The server will be used remotely and parallelly by multiple (2-5) users. Each simulation could take days. Can you please recommend how much clock speed, Turbo, Cache, RAM etc. are needed for best Abaqus performance?
