Abaqus - Quasi-static state ABAQUS/Explicit

Hi,

I am trying to simulate cold metal rolling in Abaqus/Explicit as a quasi-static process. The way it is commonly ensured that the process is in a quasi-static state is to compare the energies ALLKE and ALLIE and to show that ALLKE is not above 5-10% of ALLIE. I have two questions about this:

1. In the documentation it says that the kinetic energy of rigid bodies must be subtracted. My roll in my simulation is rigid but I didn't assign it any density so I assume I don't have to do this?

2. I would like to be able to extract the KE and IE from a certain part of my deformable part only and not the whole model. The reason for this is that comparing the KE and IE for the whole model doesn't seem to make that much sense since the IE will continue to rise because of residual stress as long as you keep the simulation running for a long time. Therefore, I would rather if I could compare these quantities in a specific region of my deformable sheet only.

Thank you,

Frank
