Hello everybody,

so I have a problem with ABAQUS PEEQ value at the specific elements in my simulation.

I am doing axisymmetric simulation, these elements are CAX8 (and in contact - frictionless, exponential P-O relationship), it's a pressing simulation with quite large overclosure. I used bilinear model of plasticity where the end point of the plastic line has 1 (100 % of plastic strain).

I am reaching value of 29 of PEEQ at some spots, so I wondered how components of PE tensor look like. But I am getting PE11= -0.39, PE12=0.94, PE22=0.3 and PE33=0.09. When doing simple math with calculator (sqrt(2)/3 times sqrt (PEij*PEij) I am definitely not getting value of 29.
Any idea what is happening? Maybe something in the background, maybe because these elements are in contact, but that should not have any effect on calculation of PEEQ out of PEij, I guess.
