Hello,
the Abaqus manual has the following statement regarding quasi-static explicit simulation: "As a general rule the kinetic energy of the deforming material should not exceed a small fraction (typically 5% to 10%) of its internal energy throughout most of the process."
What is menat by "most of the process"?
In my case, the kinetic energy starts spikeing half way throughout the failure process. At time 70, the kinetic energy is still low (but the part has already partially failed):
When the spike in kinetic energy appears it looks like this:
I can adress this "issue" by increasing the time:
However, I am wondering if this is acutally a problem and how would it effect my results?
Kind regards
Mike
