Hi,
The conical shaped face below is made by revolve. I would like to define a boundary condition like sketched: the face is supported in its normal direction but otherwise free.
The support definition is rotational symmetric, but it seems not possible to achieve this by using standard coordinate systems and I wonder how this could be done.
Please note that my second goal is to modify the boundary condition so that the face is free to move from the support (i.e. allow uplift) but not against the support (i.e. compression). It could be that this could be achieved by using connectors? But I am not sure how connectors can interact with a face, my experience with connectors are based on node to node elements.
In case someone would like to play with this I attach a simplified Abaqus model, containing only the bottom part of a larger structure. And of course without the needed BC.
