Hi, I am currently trying out ABAQUS and I am confused with regards to the geostatic step. Assuming a simple strip foundation on a soil, if I were to assign a density of 2000 kg/m3 to the concrete foundation, how can I establish a geostatic step in which both the soil and the foundation is in equilibrium with minimal displacements?

I have tried to establish a pre-defined geostatic stress field but that only takes into account of the soil and the computation is met with error should there be weight on the foundation. I would really appreciate if anyone knows how to establish a geostatic step with the presence of both soil and structure. Thank you!
