Context: According to the Abaqus tutorial on Eddy Current analysis (see youtube), the current density of the induction coil is assigned directly and the material properties are those of air. I have been unable to find resources describing how to simulate the current distribution from a source current. Simply includingn the material prperties of copper has lead to discrepancies in the result, as the magnetic field was basically trapped in the inductor and no longer interacted with the steel part.
What does one do to simulate a flux concentrator under these conditions? The high permeability concentrator material usually surrounds the coil on one or more sides to shape the magnetic field towards the the heated zone of a part for higher heating efficiency, but if the interaction is similar to that of a fully copper coil, the result will be a concentrator at melting point and a cold steel part.
