HI, I am performing soils,consolidation analyses in Abaqus 2017 of a foundation, modelled as rigid body, embedded in a soil stratum. The contact between the foundation and the soil is modelled by means of contact pair of the surface-to-surface type. I am using a finite-sliding approach (the default one), with a fixed value of the friction coefficient (0.1). When I look at the results I see that the contact status is closed-slipping, meaning that the limit value of tangential stress has been mobilized. However, if i plot the CHSEAR along the contact I see that they are equal to the friction coefficient multiplied by the total normal stress, instead of the EFFECTIVE NORMAL STRESS, as it should be (it is written in the manual - section Pore fluid contact properties). Has anybody detected a similar problem? Any suggestions?
