I am using Abaqus to run a geometrically nonlinear dynamic response solution, and I need to get strain as an output for what I am doing. I am using S4R elements in a Abaqus/Explicit dynamic analyses with nlgeom turned on. Everything I have read in the documentation indicates I should be able to get logarithmic strain for geometrically nonlinear solutions, but all I can get is something called SE: section strains and curvatures. I can’t find the definition for this type of strain formulation in the documentation. Does anyone know what SE strain is, or how I could get logarithmic strain? I am requesting all strain types as field output, and all I get in the odb file is SE strain.
